What to do When You Identify Mold

I got a chance to sit in on the Daily Detox Podcast with Stephanie Center who is a holistic health practitioner, occupational therapist and wellness detective. Listen in as we touch on a bunch of important topics, including:

  • How to identify mold in your home
  • What to do once you’ve identified mold
  • Why all mold remediation companies aren’t created equal- you have to do your homework!

Myths debunked in this episode
✨Mold is only found in older homes (false)
✨Mold can’t grow in new construction (false)
✨Mold can only grow if there is current water damage (false)
✨Symptoms of mold exposure are the same for everyone (my husband and I experienced this myth, as we had very different reactions to mold)
✨Mold doesn’t contribute to autoimmune diseases (oooh yes it does!)
✨Killing mold with bleach is safe (you actually want to remove it, not “kill” it)
✨All mold removal companies think to check HVAC units (most don’t)
